Reclaiming my Health: Managing Prediabetes & High Cholesterol đŸ„

When I first received my diagnosis of prediabetes and high cholesterol, it didn’t exactly surprise me. I’d slowly noticed changes in my body—fatigue, weight gain, and frequent junk food cravings. Part of me didn’t want to accept the reality. I thought maybe I could keep pushing it away
but continuing to do so would only cause more harm in the long run.

“You can either make the lifestyle and dietary changes as soon as possible, or I’ll have to put you on long-term medication,” the doctor said.

Hearing those words out loud made everything feel real, and seeing the numbers on my chart as confirmation made it even more so. The reality I’d been avoiding was right in front of me. It wasn’t just numbers—it was a relection of how all of my decisions thus far had led me here.

Though my diagnosis was a tough pill to swallow, I realized it didn’t mean life was over. I realized the steps I take moving forward matter. Acknowledging that this was an opportunity to rewrite the narrative and reclaim my health was quite empowering.

That’s where Medamorfosis came about. I wanted a space where I could stay accountable, and share the ups and downs of my journey—no pretending things were easy, no pretending I had it all figured out, but just a space where I could embrace the vulnerability that comes with accepting the now, and focusing on what can be with discipline, consistency, and some fun of course! :)

So though the diagnosis was a wake-up call, it was also a reminder that change is possible, and sometimes, the hardest part is just taking that first step. My next steps include prioritizing my diet, movement, and wellness. So here’s to walking this path of transformation! I’d love for you to join me.
